considered worth Seven hundred dollars and the horses from Eighty to a hundred dollars I
this however I make this exception in behalf of my negro man Ephraim in as much as he has
been a faithful Servant to me I wish to give him the liberty to choose among my children
which he would prefer living with and if in case they wish to become his owner and my
legatees fail to agree as to his value then a majority of them and my Executors are to
select some suitable and disinterested person to value him and after he shall have been
valued then the one whom he selects to be charged with his value placed upon him in that
event he is to have the liberty to select the other person who he like to life with and
who will take him at the value placed upon him and I leave it as my wish and desire if in
case he passes into the possession of any one of my children and it should so happen that
it might not suit them to keep him for them to give him the same privelidge of choosing
his master as I have done. However as it is now impossible for me to know what would
conduce most to the interest of my children or what might comfort best to their wishes in

a majority of them to addopt such mode of Settlement as they in their Judgment may choose
