HOUSE, 46th General Assembly, 1st and 2nd Extra Sessions and 47th General Assembly, Feb. 24, 1890-Jan. 1, 1893; representating Roane County; Republican. Born in Roane County in Feb. 1844; son of Anderson H. and Anne (KOUNCE) CROWDER. Extent of schooling not stated; studied medicine. Nothing found to indicate he was married. Practiced medicine at Kingston, Roane County, and also engaged in farming. In Union army; mustered in at Barboursville, Ky., Mar. 6, 1862; cpl. Co. B, 5th Tenn. Inf.; available records give little information on details of military service; mustered out at Nashville, Davidson County, Mar. 30, 1865. Member Roane County Veterans Ass'n. Died in Roane County May 25, 1916; buried in Crowder family graveyard, Kingston.
