Attended elementary schools at Kingston and Rockwood, Roane County; Rockwood High School; two years at Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Va.; graduated from Mountain City Business College in Chattanooga, Hamilton County. Married at Kingston Dec. 29, 1929, to Pauline WHITE, native of Greeneville, Greene County, daughter of John and Delhia (MALONE) WHITE; no children. Engaged in farming. Justice of the peace in the 4th civil district of Roane County, 1942-66; road commissioner for same district, 1952-60; road supervisor for county, 1960-64; member Agricultural Commission. Member United Methodist Church; Knights of Pythias; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity; Civitan Club; Lions Club. Business address (1968), P.O.
