John Allensworth EVANS (1906- )
HOUSE, 76th General Assembly, 1947-49; representing Roane County; Republican. Born at Kingston, Roane County, July 30, 1906; son of John C. and Dixie (EBLEN) EVANS. Attended elementary and high schools at Harriman, Roane County. Married in Meigs County Nov. 16, 1932, to Fay BOWMAN, native of Harriman and daughter of James Harper and Betty (BLAKE) BOWMAN, children--John Harper, Tom Wendell, and Betty Jane. Engaged in merchandising at Rockwood, Roane County, to 1946; from that date to present has engaged in farming. Member Baptist Church. Address (1968), 109 North Ridge, Rockwood. Grandson of Patrick William EVANS; nephew of David Henry EVANS, sometime members Tenn. General Assembly.
