Henry Inman WELCKER (1813-1893)
HOUSE, 31st, General Assembly, 1855-57; representing Roane County; SENATE, 32nd Assembly, 1857-59; representing Roane and Knox Counties; American or Know-Nothing Party. Born in Rhea County Mar. 18, 1813; son of John Henry and Elizabeth (INMAN) WELCKER. Extent of schooling not found. Never married. At time of legislative terms was a farmer in Roane County, with Kingston as post office address; at time of death, described as a leading surveyor, iron ore dealer, and distiller of Roane County. Died at his home six miles east of Loudon July 25, 1893; buried with Masonic honors but place of burial not stated.
