New Providence Baptist Church (1834)

Located off Sugar Limb Road near Lenoir City in Loudon County (but a part of Roane County until 1870).

Was organized in July 1834, by elders Richard TALIAFERRO, Charles TALIAFERRO and Jonas MOON, with 12 members.

Elder Jonas MOON was lected pastor.

Deacons were:

Claiborne HOTCHKISS John LAWSON Hiram HYDE.

Claiborne HOTCHKISS was appointed clerk.
