State of Tennessee, Roane County. A petition to the honorable the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee now in Session, We your humble petitioners humbly & respectfully sheweth that we have to labour under many disadvantages on account of being so remote from our seat of Justice, we pray your Honorable body would pass a Law to strike off from Roane County & Join us to Monroe commencing on Tennessee River where the line of Monroe strikes the same. Then down the river passing the mouth of Sweetwater Creek to where the Blackoak Ridge to the line of Monroe County & with the line thereof to the beginning could your Honorable Body comply with our Petition we your humble petitioners duty bound will we pray. 27th Sept. 1825
