December Sessions 1801

Ordered that the Public road laid out by order of Knox County be Confirmed from
the line of Knox County to Kingston.

Ordered that Jesse BYRD be overseer of the Public road from Kingston to Thoms
BROWNS and that Hugh NELSON esquire appoint the hands to work theron.

Ordered that Samuel EBLIN be overseer of the Public road from Thomas BROWNS
round the end of the ridge by Paul HERRALSONS to Martin KENNADYS Cabbin and that
Paul HERRALSON esquire appoint the hands to Work there on.

Ordered that Henry MILLAN [MILLER?] be overseer of the Public road from KENNADYS
Cabbin to the top of the ridge West of the Widow OLIVERS and that George PRESTON
esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Garrod HOTCHKIS be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
Ridge West of the Widow OLIVERS to the top of the Black oad ridge and that Isham
COX esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Thomas BROWN be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
Black oak ridge to the line of Knox County and that James PRESTON esquire
appoint the hands to work thereon.

A Petition was preferred to Court prying [sic] that a Jury might be appointed to
view and mark a Public road from Kingston crosing Clinch river at the mouth of
Emmerys river to the double spring on poplar creek for which purpose a Jury was
appointed (to wit) Thomas GALLEHER, Joshua ASHMOORE, Nathan SULLINS, Greenbury
WILSON, David GALLEHER, John WHITE, [torn] CHITWOOD.

A Petition was preferred praying that a Jury be appointed to view and mark a
Public Road from Captain STONES the neares and best way into the papaw road and
thence to the line of Knox County for which purpose a Jury was appointed to wit.
Jacob PRUIT, Davis STOCKTON, Robert MILLAR, Joseph HANKINS, James STOCKTON, Hugh
MILLAR.

A Petition was preferred to Court praying that a Jury might be appointed to view
and mark a Public Road from James CHITWOODS to the ford on big Emmery river for
Which purpose a Jury was appointed to wit Joseph ROBINSON, Joseph McPHERSON,
John CHRISTAINBURY, James ROBINSON, David F. DEARMOND, Solomon GERAN, Samuel
ARCHER.

A Petition was prefered to Court praying that a Jury might be appointed to view
and mark a Public Road and also that a Ferry might be Established on Clinch
river on said Road the nearest and best way from Kingston to Nicholas NEALS Mill
on east fork of poplar Creek and from thence upwards for Which purpose a Jury
was appointed to wit. John STONE, Joseph BRADLEY, John STERLING, William
GARDENHIRE, Nicholas NEAL, Hugh FRANCIS and John NEAL.

March Sessions 1802

Ordered that Joseph ROBINSON be overseer of the Public Road from David SCOTTS to
the Ford on big Emmery River and that George McPHERSON esquire appoint the hands
to work thereon.

Ordered that Joseph HANKINS be overseer of the Public road from John STONES
halfway to the top of Bradburys Ridge and that Paul HERRALSON esquire appoint
the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Alexander BROWN be overseer of the Public Road from halfway up
Bradburys Ridge on the west side up to or opposite to Richard CAVAVEITS and that
Paul HERRALSON esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Richard CAVEIT be overseer of the Public Road from opposite his own
House to the line of Knox County and that William CAMPBELL esquire appoint the
hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Joseph BRADLY be overseer of the Public Road from John STONES to
the South Bank of Clinch river opposite to the mouth of poplar Creek and that
Samuel MILLAR esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that John WEAR be overseer of the Public Road from the mouth of poplar
Creek to Nicholas NEALS Mill and thence into the road leading from CHITWOODS to
Emmerys River and that Samuel MILLER esquire appoint the hands to work there on.

Ordered that David GALLEHER be overseer of the Public Road from poplar Creek to
CHITWOODS and that William WHITE esquire appoint the hands to Work thereon.

Ordered that Adom SHERRAL be overseer of the Public Road from Poplar Creek to
Gray SYMS and that William WHITE esquire appoint the hands to Work thereon.

Ordered that Isaac BRASHER be overseer of the Public Road from Gray SUMS to
Kingston and William WHITE esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Jacob GARDENHIRE be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
Black oak Ridge to the line of Knox County in the Room of Thomas BROWN and that
James PRESTON esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

A Petition was granted that had been prefered to Court at March Sessions 1802
for a public Road from the line of Anderson County to the Gap in Wallins Ridge
where the old Cumberland trace now gows through the same.

Ordered that Asa COBB be overseer of the public road from Anderson County Line
to the Gap in Wallins Ridge and that William WHITE Esquire appoint the hands to
work thereon.

A Petition was Granted that had been prefered to Court at March Sessions 1802
for a Public Roade from PRIGMOORES Ferry on Holston River the nearest and best
Way to South West Point.

Ordered that Robert ALLISON be overseer of the Public Road from PRIGMOORES Ferry
to Muddy Creek & that Isham COX esquire Appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that William BLANK be overseer of the Public Road from Muddy Creek to
Jarred HOTCHKISS and that Isham COX esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that John WHITE be overseer of the Public Road from the forks of the
Road at David SCOTTS to the ford on little Emmery River and that George
McPHERSON Esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Joseph ROBINSON be overseer of the Public Road from little Emmery
River to the Cumberland ford on big Emmery River and that Abraham McCLELLAN
Esquire appoint the hands to Work thereon.

Ordered that Alexander CARMICHAEL be overseer of the Public Road from Kingston
to the ford on Clinch River and that Zacheus AYR Esquire appoint the hands to
work thereon.

Ordered that the Public Road leading from John STONES to the papaw Plains and
thence to Knox County line be discontinued and that a Jury be appointed to view
and mark said Rode the nearest and best way from John STONES so as to strike the
Knox County line opposite or as near as may be to William HELMS on hickory Creek
and that George PRESTON, William CAMPBELL, Nicholas NEAL, Right ROBERTS, Robert
BURK are hereby appointed Jurors to view said Road and make Report at next Court
&c.

Ordered that Right ROBERTS be over Seer of the Public road from Thomas BROWNS
round the End of the ridge by Paul HARRALSONS to Martin KANADYS Cabbin and that
Paul HARRALSON Esquire appoint the Hands to Work there on.

Ordered that Richard CAVETT be overseer of the Public Road from opposite his own
House to Knox County line opposite to as near as may be to William HELMS on
Hickory Creek and that William CAMPBELL Esquire appoint the Hands to work
thereon.

Ordered that Jesse STUBBS be overseer of the Public Road from Halfway up
Bradburys Ridge on the West side up to or opposite to Richard CAVETTS and that
Saml. MILLER Esquire appoint the hands to Work thereon.

Ordered that Joseph HANKINS be overseer of the Public Road from John STONES
Halfway to the top of Bradburys Ridge and that Samuel MILLER Esquire appoint the
hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Jesse ELDRIDGE be overseer of the Public Road from TRIMBLES Ferry
to the top of the Black oak Ridge and that George PRESTON Esquire appoint the
Hands to work thereon.

Ordered that William RAMSEY be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
Black oak Ridge to the top of the Ridge west of William MATLOCKS Mill and that
George PRESTON Esquire appoint the Hands to work there on.

Ordered that John SUTTON be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
Ridge West of MATLOCKS mill to the west bank of Buck Creek and that Paul
HARRALSON Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon.

Buck Creek to where it Intersects with the road leading from Kingston and that
Zacheus AYRE Esquire appoint the hands to work there on.

December Sessions 1802

Ordered that the Public Road leading from TRIMBLES Ferry to Kingston be
discontinued and that a Jury be appointed to View and Mark said Road the nearest
and best Way from TRIMBLES Ferry to Kingston and that Robert ALLISON, William
LAMPKIN, David STUART, Nicholas STARNS, Benjamin PRATER are hereby appointed
Jurors to View and Mark Said Road and Make report at next Court &c.

Ordered that Richard ALLEN be overseer of the Public Road from CANNADYS Cabbin
to the top of the Ridge West of the Widow OLIVERS and that George PRESTON
Esquire appoint the Hands to Work thereon.

Ordered that Richard OLIVER be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
Ridge West of the Widow OLIVERS to the top of the Black oak Ridge and that Isham
COX Esquire appoint the Hands to work theron.

March Sessions 1803

Ordered that William SMITH be overseer of the Public Road from Kingston to
Thomas BROWNS and that Zacheus AYRE Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon

Ordered that Joseph McPHERSON be overseer of the Public road from the forks of
the road at David SCOTTS to the ford of Little Emmery River and that George
McPHERSON Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon &c.

appointed to review a Public road from the North Bank of Clinch river to teh
place where Captain Gray SIMS formerly lived for Which purpose a Jury was
appointed to wit Gray SIMS, Isaac BRASHER, Little Page SIMS, Adam SHERRELL and
Joseph McPHERSON.

Ordered that Zacheus ROBERTS be overseer of the Public Road from John STONES to
the South bank of Clinch River opposite to the mouth of poplar Creek and that
Samuel MILLER Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Robert DUNCAN be overseer of the Public Road from the Mouth of
poplar creek to Nicholas NEALS Mill and thence into the Main road leading from
CHITWOODS to Emmeries River and that Samuel MILLER Esquire appoint the Hands to
Work thereon.

Ordered that Jonathan BLACK be overseer of the Public Road from Jared
HOTCHKISSES to TRIMBLES Ferry and that Isham COX Esquire appoint the Hands to
work thereon.

September Sessions 1803

Ordered that James MORRIS be overseer of the Public Road from Thomas BROWNS
Round the End of the ridge by Paul HERRELSONS to Martin KENNADYS Cabbin and that
Zacheus AYRE Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Bazzle BRASHEAR be overseer of the Public road from John STONES to
the South Bank of Clinch River opposite to the Mouth of Poplar Creek and that
Samuel MILLER Esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Bradburys Ridge on the West Side up to or opposite to Richard CAVETTS and that
Samuel MILLER Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon.

A petition was prefered to Court paying that a Jury Might be appointed to View
and mark a Public Road from the House of Thomas CARPENTER to Blounts Quarter for
which purpose a Jury Was appointed to wit Robert WHYTE, Little Page SIMS,
Nicholas NAIL, John STERLING, William WHITE, Samuel MILLER and Eli ROBERTS.

December Sessions 1803

A petition was prefered to Court praying that a Jury might be appointed to View
and mark a public Road from COULTERS ferry on Holston river to the pawpaw ford
on Clinch river thence to Clacks Gap in the ridge where a public road Crosses
Near George McPHERSONS Esquire for which purpose a Jury was appointed to wit
John WINTON, Jacob GARDENHIRE, John BROWDER, Adam SHARROLD, Greenbury WILSON,
William GARDENHIRE.

A petition was prefered praying that a Jury might be appointed to View and Mark
a public road from Thomas CARPENTERS to BLOUNTS quarter for which purpose a Jury
was appointed to wit. Joseph ROBINSON, James ROBINSON, Clemmons PHILLIPS, Thos.
JONES, Joab SIMS, Josiah JENT and Asa COBB Esquire.

Ordered that Reese GULLICK be overseer of the public Road from Jared HOTCHKISSES
to TRIMBLES Ferry and that Isham COX Esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Thomas JONES be Overseer of the public road from the forks of the
road at David SCOTTS to the ford on Little Emmery river and that George
McPHERSON Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon.

and mark a public Road the nearest and best way from John WOODLEYS opposite the
mouth of Cloyd(?) Creek the nearest and best Way into the Knox road leading to
Kingston also to View the road from PRIGMORES into the Knox road for Which
purpose a Jury was appointed to wit Jesse ELDRIDGE, William BLACK, Jered
HOTCHKISS, Samuel GRUG(?), Simeon ELDRIDGE, Nicholas STARNS, Daniel RATHER Who
were also requested to make report on the Same at our next Ct.

Ordered that Jason MATLOCK be overseer of the Public Road from halfway up the
Bradbury Ridge on the West Side up to or opposite to Richard CAVETTS and that
Samuel MILLER Esquire appoint the Hands to Work thereon.

Ordered that William ANDERSON be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
ridge West of the Widow OLIVERS to the top of the Black ok ridge and that Isham
COX Esquire appoint the Hands to Work thereon.

Ordered that James WILLITT be overseer of the Public Road from Kingston to

Ordered that Hugh FRANCIS be overseer of the Public Road from John STONES Half
Way up Bradburys ridge and that Samuel ESKRIDGE Esquire appoint the Hands to
Work thereon.

Ordered that William WHITE Junr. be overseer of the Public road from Poplar
Creek to CHITWOODS and that Asa COBB Esquire appoint the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Roger GIDEON be overseer of the Public road from the mouth of Emery
River to Gray SYMS and that George McPHERSON Esquire appoint the Hands to work
thereon.

Ordered Thomas JONES be Overseer of the Public road from the forks of the roads
at David SCOTTS to George McPHERSONS Esquire fence leaving the old road at the
West corner of said fence and to run to the old road again so as to give Said
McPHERSON the Water in his field and thence to the ford on Little Emery River
and that George McPHERSON Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon.

Ordered that John PARKER be overseer of the Public Road from Thomas CARPENTERS
to the Corner of Phillip USSERYS fence and that George McPHERSON Esquire appoint
the hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Ephrim WALKER be over Seer of the Public Road from KENADYS Cabbins
to the top of the ridge West of the Widow OLIVERS and that George PRESTON
Esquire appoint the Hands to work thereon.

Ordered that Clemmons PHILLIPS be overseer of the Public road from the Corner of
Phillip USSERYS fence to Blunts quarter and that Abraham McCLELLAN Esquire
appoint the Hands to work thereon.

June Sessions 1804.

Ordered that James WILLITT be Overseer of the Public road from Kingston to
Thomas BROWNS old place where Mr. James NAVE Lives and that all the Hands Living
in the bounds of to wit all the hands from above the cross Street above James
WILLITTS Store With the Indian boundary to and up Tennessee to include Zacheus
AYRES Esquire thence a direct line to the place where Thomas BROWN formerly
lived thence with the Great road Kingston thence With the Lines of Said Town so
as to include all the Hands North of the Great road and above Said Cross Street
Which Hands are hereby appointed to Work on said road under James WILLITT
overseer aforesaid agreeable to Law.

sides of the Great road down to Thomas BROWNS old place and all the Hands above
a Direct Line from said BROWNS old place to Tennessee River above Zacheus AYRE
Esquire and thence up said River to David BAILEYS.

Ordered that Adam CARSON Be overseer of the Public Road from Kingston to Clinch
River and that the Hands Living in the Bounds of to wit is appointed to work
thereon that is to say all the Hands below or West of the Cross Street in
Kingston that Crosses above James WILLITTS Store thence with the Indian Boundary
Line to Clinch River thence up Clinch River to the Mouth of Cany Creek thence Up
said Creek to John STONES thence down the Great road to the Line of Kingston
thence With the lines of Said Town so as to included all the Hands below or West
of said Cross Street.

Ordered that Ephrim WALKER be appointed over Seer of the Public Road from
CANNADYS Cabbin to the top of the Ridge West of the Widow OLIVERS and that the
Hands in the Bounds of to wit, is to work thereon that is to Say all the Hands
from David BAILEYS to Samuel EBLINS thence up said Road to the top of said Ridge
So as to include all the Hands on both Sides of Said road from the top of said
Ridge to John FREEMANS thence down Tennessee River to the said BAILEYS.

September Sessions 1804 (Page 13)

Ordered that Alexander MAHAN be Overseer of the Road from the Mouth of Poplar
Creek to Nicholas NEALS Mill and thence into the main Road leading from
CHEATWOODS to Emmrie River and that George McPHERSON Esquire appoint the Hands
to work thereon.

Ordered that Benjamin LIVELY be Overseer of the Public Road Thomas BROWNS old
place round the end of the Ridge and up to Martin KENNADYS Cabbin where Samuel
EBLIN now lives and that all the Hands living in the Bounds below a direct line
from David BAILEYS to Samuel EBLINS on both sides of the said Road and above a
direct from said Thomas BROWNS Old Place to Zacheus AYERS and to Tennessee River
is to work thereon.

A petition was preferred to Court praying that a Jury might be had to review a
part of the Public Road leading from South West Point to Knoxville viz from the
top of Black Oak Ridge to the County line for which purpose a Jury was appointed
viz.
1. William LAMPKIN, 2. Robert ALLISON, 3. Bazzel DAVIS, 4. Thomas BROWN Town
Creek, 5. John BRAZLETON, 6. James PRESTON
and it is ordered that the Sheriff of the County afforesaid summon the
afforesaid Jurors to appear before some Justice of the County afforesaid who
after being duly quallified shall proceed to review and mark the said Road and
make report to our next Court.

December Sessions 1804

Ordered that Adam CARSON be overseer of the Public road from Kingston to the
Ferry opposite the mouth of Emery RIver and that all the Hands on the West side
of the road from the Ferry to Kingston Main Street and down Race Street to
Clinch River and up said River to the Ferry Work thereon.

Ordered that James WILLITT be overseer of the Public road from Kingston to
Thomas BROWNS old place to wit, all the Hands With a Direct Line as near as can
be assertained to Zacheus AYERS thence With the river Tennessee to Clinch and up
Clinch to Kingston main Street called Race Street up said Street to the cross
Street North to the Ferry at the mouth of Emerys River then with Clinch to the
mouth of Cany Creek thence With said creek to the road at John STONES and With
said road to the beginning including all the Hands in said Boundary to work
thereon.

Ordered that William ANDERSON be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
ridge West of the Widow OLIVERS to the top of Black oak ridge and that all the
Hands from the top of the ridge west of the Widow OLIVERS on both Sides of Said
road to include Richard LAMB on the North side of the road and thence a direct
Line to and including James MALWEE on the South side of said road and thence to
Tennessee including all the hands that usually Worked on said road and Down
Tennessee to John FREEMANS and thence a Direct Line to the beginning to work
thereon.

Ordered that Jacob GARDENHIRE be overseer of the Public Road from the top of the
Black oak Ridge to the county Line and that all the Hands in the following
Described bound Work thereon to wit Beginning on the top of the Black oak ridge
and including all the Hands that usually Worked to where the County Line Crosses
Said road.

Ordered that Josiah JENT be overseer of the Public [road] from Thomas CARPENTERS
to the corner of Phillip USSERYS fence and that all the Hands from the County
Line Where the main poplar Creek Crosses and down the said Creek to include all
the Hands North West Side to the mouth of the Small Creek William PURRIS lives
on up the said creek to Thomas USURYS to the Indian boundary Line to Work
thereon.

Ordered that James ROBINSON be overseer of the Public road from Big Emery River
to Little Emery River and that all the Hands West of the quarter Brach[?] to
Work thereon.

Ordered that Joseph ROBINSON be overseer of the Public road from Little Emery
River to the dividing ridge between said river and poplar creek and all the
Hands East of the quarter Branch including William HOUSTON and George McPHERSON
Esquire to work thereon.

Ordered that Michael ARNOLD be overseer of the Public road from the Dividing
ridge between poplar Creek and Emerys River to the fork of the road at Wm.
SCOTTS and that all the Hands North East of the road to the pine ridge to a
Small creek including Wm. PERSON and Down said Creek to the mouth thence up
poplar creek to HOWARD thence to include all the hands between the top of the
Black oak ridge and said creek to work thereon.

Ordered that William WHITE Junr. be overseer of the Public road from Poplar
Creek to the Double Springs at Chitwood and that all the Hands South of the main
Creek from HOWARD up to the County Line along sd Line to the top of the East
fork ridge thence down said ridge to include Nicholas NEIL thence to the mouth
of the East fork then up to the ford to work thereon.

Ordered that James GLASGOW be overseer of the Public road from the mouth of
Emery river to the ford of Poplar creek near Greenbury WILSONS and all the hands
North East of said river below Clacks ridge and a Direct Line from where said
ridge Strikes Said river to there poplar creek runs through the Black oak ridge
thence down said creek to Clinch river then down Clinch to its Junction With
Emery thence Up said river to be beginning and Said Hands in said Boundary to
Work thereon.

A Petition was preferred to Court that a Jury might be appointed to view and
mark a Public road from COULTERS Ferry Crossing Clinch at the pawpa ford thence
to the Gap of the ridge at George McPHERSONS for which purpose a Jury was
appointed (to wit) George McPHERSON, Saml. MILLER, William CAMPBELL, Adam
SHERRELL, Robert BURK, Wm. GARDENHIRE & Andrew LOW (or LOWER) and that they make
report at next Court.

A Petition was preferred to Court praying that a Jury might be appointed to view
and make a Public Road from Anderson County Line to John STONES to wit and make
a Public Road from Anderson County Line to John STONES to wit Hugh FRANCE, Jos.
(or Jas.) BRADLEY, Francis LEE, Thomas REED, Moses LOONEY, Robert McCLRKLE and
William ERWIN and that make report thereon at our next court.

March Sessions 1805

Ordered that William LAMPKIN be overseer of the Public Road from Muddy Creek to
Jared HOTCHKISSes and all the hands below James MALWEES (McELWEE) to the head of
Muddy Creek and to include all the Hands on said Creek to WOOLLEYS road thence
to the Line of Hands that is all to Work on TRIMBLES Ferry road and with that
Line of Hand to the beginning.

Ordered that Benjamin PRATER be overseer of the Public road from WOOLLBY Ferry
to where the road interests with SIMS(?) and that all the hands between between
(sic) the road and the Holston river including WOODLEY above and DEROSSET below
is to work thereon.

Ordered that Robert BURK be overseer of the Public road from the Pawpaw ford to
Jared HOTCHKISSES and that he have all the hands from the Salt Peter Cave to
Knox County Line North of the main road from Knoxville and all said Hands to
work on Said road.

Ordered that Thomas SHYE be overseer of the public road from his own House to
CROUCHES Ferry on Clinch river and that he have all the hands above SHERRELLS
Round to Anderson County Line south of Bear Creek to Clinch river to work
thereon.

Ordered that Adam SHERRELL be overseer of the Public road from Clacks Gap to
Thomas SHYES and that he have all the Hands from the mouth of Poplar Creek to
NAILS mill to work on said road.

A Petition was Prefered to Court praying that a Jury might be appoint to review
the Public road from the ford of Big Emery to the ford of Big Poplar Creek and a
Jury was appointed to wit
James ROBINSON, Adam SHERRELL, Michael ARNOLD, Joseph ROBINSON, Robert S.
BRASHEARS, Andrew LOWER, Isaac BRASHEARS, Alexander MAHAN, Samuel MAHAN, David
GOLLIHER.

Ordered that William HOLLAND be overseer if the publick Road from CANADYS
Cabbins to the top of the Ridge West of John WOODS and that the hands in the
Bonds of to wit that is to Say all the hands from David BAILEYS to Samuel EBLINS
then up Said Road to the top of Said Ridge so as to include all the hands both
Side of Said Road from the top Said Ridge to John FREEMANS then down Tennessee
River to the Said BAILEYS.

Ordered that Roland McKINNE be overseer of the Public Road from Robert BASHEARS
to Poplar Creek and the following hands be appointed to work theron to wit,

William SHOEMAKER, Aron PARKER, Andrew LOWER, Jeames McCULLAH, Jeames SHOEMAKER,

A Petition was Prefered to Court praying that a Jury might be appointed to view
and mark a Public road from TRIMBLES Ferry to the Knox road near James HANKINS
which Petition was Granted and Jury appointed to wit.
Saml. GRAGG, John BURFORT, Simeon ELDRIDGE, William BLACK, James BLAIR, Jno.
BROWDER and Darias BROWDER on which Petition an order has Issued to the shff. to
summon the Jurors to view and mark said road and make report thereof at our next
Court.

Ordered that John EBLIN be Overseer of the Publick Road from Thomas BROWNS Old
place Round the Ridge up to Martains KANADAYS Cabbin where Samuel EBLIN now
lives and that all the hands living on the Bounds below a Direct line from David
BAILEYS to Samuel EBLINS on both Sides of the Road and above a Direct line from
said Thomas BROWNS old place to Zacheus AIRS and to Tennessee River is to work
thereon.

Ordered that Hugh BEATY be Overseer of the publick Road from Kingston to the
Ferry opposite the Mouth of Emerys River and that all the hands on the West Side
of the Road from the Fary to Kinston Maine Street and Down Race Street to Clinch
River and up said River to the Ferry work thereon.

Ordered that Joseph ROBINSON be Overseer of the publick Road from Clacks Gap to
the first branch that Emties into Emerys River below BLOUNTS wuarter Bounds(?)
of the hands East of Said Branch to the top of the Black Oak Ridge joining(?)
ARNAL a North line to the foot of Wallens Ridge to work thereon.

Ordered that Michael ARNAL be overseer of the Publick Road from the ford of big
Poplar Creek to the top of the Ridge at a place called Clacks Gap Bounds of the
hands North corse to the foot of Wallens Ridge up the Valley as high as Thomas
USSERYS thence a North East course to the Road on the top of Black Oak Ridge
thence a long the Road to the Beginning and all the hands in the above Bounds to
work thereon.

Ordered that James ROBINSON be overseer of the publick Road from the first
Branch that puts into Big Emerys Bounds on the hands west of Said Branch bound
by Emery on the one hand and Wallens Ridge on the other and all the hands in the
above Bounds to Work thereon.
